There is no such thing as “hurricane insurance” that can be purchased on its own. Instead, you can combine homeowners insurance, flood insurance, and various endorsements like sewer-backup or windstorm coverage to get hurricane damage coverage (in some states).

Hurricane insurance can cover damages caused by wind, heavy rainfall, flooding, tornadoes, storm surge, and other weather-related perils, depending on the combination of coverages you choose to purchase.
