In the event that an accident causes death or serious injury, an AD&D policy will pay a lump sum to your surviving beneficiaries or to you in the event that you sustain an injury.
Typically, the insurance provides coverage for accidents and fatalities in three parts:
Insurance for flight accidents: occurring when a licensed commercial airliner is flying.
Transporter common:
Coming about because of public transportation like train, ship, or transport travel.
General journeys: Happening anytime during an excursion.
Overdose and sickness-related deaths are possible exclusions.
In addition, only certain injuries, such as those involving the hand, foot, limb, or eyesight, may be covered. There are expressed sum limits per injury.
If you already have life insurance, you may not need accidental death coverage.
However, if your travel insurance policy provides benefits in addition to those provided by your life insurance policy, you may be able to leave more money for your beneficiaries.
