Moving and Relocation Expenses.

The IRS defines moving expenses as costs incurred by a taxpayer when moving for a new job or moving to a new location.

However, with the exception of members of the military who move as a result of a military order, the TCJA eliminated the deduction for moving expenses for tax years 2018 through 2025.

Form 3903 of the Internal Revenue Service allows members of the armed forces to deduct the cost of moving expenses from their federal income taxes.

If they were incurred in response to a military order requiring a permanent station change.

Active-duty members of the United States military can deduct their moving expenses.

Insurance, the cost of packing, crating, hauling, and in-transit storage are all eligible expenses.
