We developed a comprehensive life insurance methodology for the purpose of compiling our evaluation of the most reasonable life insurance providers.
To get started, we looked into what life insurance customers want from companies. For this, we looked to third-party consumer studies like the 2021 Insurance Barometer.
Study by Life Happens and LIMRA and J.D. Power’s 2021 U.S. Life Insurance New Business Study.
Then, we gathered ratings for more than 50 data points on 91 life insurance companies:
Companies that had the lowest cost of term insurance, top AM Best ratings, a lower than expected rate of customer complaints, and a good selection of products and resources were given preference during our review process.
Online application and quoting tools, open pricing, and options for no-exam policies were particularly important to us. If live chat and other customer service options were also available, we gave businesses higher ratings.
