Trade has reported that it will continue tolerating applications for vehicle import licenses from vehicle sales centers in Burma from January 3, 2022.
Despite the fact that it is a new vehicle, the proprietor of a car dealership informed DVB that the import licenses and import rights for the older vehicles were not being returned as many believed.
He stated, “It really is not like that.” They didn’t get it. New automobile I am not referring to the previous import rights. In point of fact, it refers to the end of business. After being shut down, it is now open again. Contrary to popular belief, automobiles cannot be imported. Their statement has them baffled.
Due to domestic demand for US dollars, the military council has been denying car permits since September of last year.
A car dealer says that as a result, car prices in the Yangon market have gone up and sales have gone down.
He stated that “demand was a little bit high during the period when car permits were closed.” The dollar’s value, on the other hand, was rising at the time. Some people buy cars rather than dollars because of this. Another point is that the SKD is not closed, but the car permit is. However, SKD automobiles have been unable to operate factories because of the Kovis. The factories are currently back. Therefore, I believe SKD automobiles will return by the end of December. Therefore, there is a reason why SKD does not operate. However, no one commanded that the SKD factories close. They shut down themselves. Car prices have increased as a result of all of these factors. The sales were up. between the end of September and the start of October. However, the trade has now subsided. The cost does not rise. because there are two steps for the buyer. The automobile market right now is cool.
The statement stated that the annual audit of applications for vehicle import licenses will be completed by the end of 2021 and any necessary adjustments will be made by the Department of Commerce under the Military Council.
As a result, applications for vehicle import licenses will be accepted at the showrooms until December 17, 2021, and applications for 2022 will be processed on January 3, 2022.
