Who Wins When a Wedding Planner Is Hired?

There may be a wedding planner for every couple due to the wide range of services and costs.

A planner can be very helpful if your event’s logistics are complicated because of its size, location, or number of days or events.

For a destination wedding where guests must travel, or for any other long-distance celebration, many consider them essential.

One professional couple, for instance—a pediatrician and a public health researcher based in Seattle—wanted to hold their wedding in rural Maryland, close to the bride’s childhood home.

They found a planner online to find local vendors, conduct walk-throughs of their rustic venue, and determine where and how to stage the ceremony, position the band, and arrange the tables. The groom says they needed “someone to coordinate cross-country.”

Those with tight deadlines may also benefit from hiring a wedding planner. While some full-fledged consultants do require a pre-planning period of several months, wedding planners can also move quickly, despite the idea that planning a wedding is a complicated, long-term process. When it comes to researching caterers, stationers, and florists, they are not starting from scratch, unlike couples. They can speed up the selection and signing process because they have access to venues and vendors.
