Apple and Brazil are fighting once more after the Brazilian government seizes iPhones from Apple stores due to a lack of chargers.

The Brazilian justice department issued a directive prohibiting the sale of iPhones without power adapters a few months ago.A Brazilian court decided that purchasing an iPhone without a power adapter could be bad for customers.Brazil also slapped the company with millions of dollars, but Apple ignored the decision.

Gizmochina reported that the Federal District-based regulator for consumer protection seized iPhones from retail establishments this time.As indicated by the report, the Procon-DF bunch held onto many Apple iPhones from different Brasilia, Brazil, retail locations.

He said that the seizure was part of Operation Discharge, which was meant to put pressure on Apple for not following a law that said phones must come with chargers in the box when bought.Apple and Carrier products were seized by the Brazilian government from authorized dealers.

Apple will no longer include chargers in the packaging of smartphones, and the recently released iPhone 11 series will no longer include chargers in retail packaging as of the announcement of the iPhone 12 in 2020.Selling mobile phones without a charger is against the law in Brazil because it hurts customers. While it appeals the most recent decision made by the court, Apple’s Brazilian business has asked the government to allow iPhone sales in the country.

Albeit the organization is sure it will win in court, the recently presented Apple television 4K box in Brazil incorporates a USB-C charger for which not a glaringly obvious reason has been given.
